Greetings Super Gold Card Holders

My name is Carey Hablous.

I too am a Super Gold Cardholder living in Waipu, Northland.

A few years ago I had a hip replacement that didn't go well and consequently spent many months having to use a walking stick to aid with balance, pain mitigation and mobility.

During this time I became aware that the options for walking sticks was quite limited. They were either the rather cheap adjustable ones available at a chemist, or elaborately carved wooden ones that came from overseas and were more for show than for function.

So I set out to make my own. It has been a long journey from original idea to the finished product, but as a retired designer, a journey I have enjoyed.

Now on offer is my own take on the walking stick. The handle is cast aluminium, it is extremely comfortable, it looks wonderful and it comes as either right or left hand.

The shaft is resin reinforced bamboo which is made to your exact lenght requirement.

To Order your walking stick

  • The first thing to do is review my website page The Correct Stick. (See in the menu ABOVE)

  • This will tell you all about what you will need to know about getting the correct walking stick for you.

  • There are links to videos as well as diagrams and text. My advice is to spend some time going through these items.

  • Should you decide you would like to purchase a walking stick you will need a tape measure and maybe someone to assist measuring the correct length from your wrist to the floor.

  • You will see there are some other options you can add to the walking stick to make it express your colour preferences or perhaps a message engraved into the handle.

Gift Card - See it in the menu ABOVE

If you would like to receive a walking stick from someone in your family as a gift. They can buy a gift card for you from this page.

Ordering the Walking Stick.

Go to the Shop (Follow the link in the menu ABOVE)

  • This is where you purchase the walking stick. You select which hand the walking stick will be used in, and the length of walking stick you want.

  • You can also purchase the walking stick in a colour of your choice (I use the Resene colour charts if that helps) and add an engraved message. Colour and the engraving cost extra.

Cost

The walking sticks cost $220 each delivered free anywhere in New Zealand. Super Gold Card Holders get a 10% discount. Yes they are more expensive than the cheap options at the chemist but remember this, if you really like your walking stick you will use it every day, it will become part of your daily wardrobe. Do you spend as little as possible on a winter coat or do you buy something that look good and fits you well?

Purchasing

  1. Go to the online Shop - select the options for your walking stick and then Checkout.

  2. This will take you to a page where you fill in your name and delivery details.

  3. The next step is to pay for it. You can do this with a credit card or by transferring the money online from your bank account to mine using a bank transfer.

  5. I am aware that many people are nervous about buying online. You could ring me to assure yourself that I am legit, but I'm not sure how to overcome this hurdle. All I can do is assure you that I do exist, and I'm not doing this to rip anybody off. I genuinely want people to use walking sticks more, they really do help.
